Terror Week

This week I have:

  • A two-day quality and safety compliance audit at work that I am wholly and solely responsible for making sure we pass and will be the end of us if we don’t.
  • 4 (yes, FOUR) university assignments due between tonight and Friday, totalling 7500 words.

I’ve been super stressed about this and managed to finish 3 of 4 assignments, although I’m awaiting on confirmation that I’ve done one correctly – I think I misinterpreted the question.

Last night I decided to take a few hours to myself for the first time in three weeks after the child was in bed (in HER OWN BED! for the first time in ages), played some Guild Wars 2, had a glass of wine, watched some telly, had a great dinner. Life was grand.

10:30pm and my world turns to shit – my daughter suffered an acute onset attack of severe respiratory distress and had huge difficulty breathing. All my medical training falls out of my ears as I pace frantically waiting for the ambulance and trying to calm her down. She spent the night in hospital, had a big drink of some steroids and is now home for the week with a nasty respiratory tract infection.

Worst. Timing. Ever.

I can’t concentrate on anything and I suddenly don’t give a flying fuck about work or uni.
