Goals Set: Begin!

I’ve been reading quite a few blogs on writing recently and a few blog posts written by various authors, guest posts by aforementioned various authors linked via Twitter and then the blogs that host the guest posts. You could say I’ve been reading a lot instead of actually doing anything, which is partially true, but I’m also trying to approach this venture with somewhat more of a plan in mind than ‘writing stuff’.

Tansy Rayner Roberts wrote a guest post on The Journeyman Writer and mentioned that she challenged herself to writeย  100 words a day for 100 days, starting again if she missed a day. I read back on some of The Journeyman Writer’s posts as well and she has challenged herself to write a million words and has a word counter at the top of her blog. I quite like the idea of writing 100 words in 100 days, it’s a goal that I think I could possibly manage while juggling my uni workload and a newborn.

Henceforth, I shall chronicle my efforts, much like Julia from The Journeyman Writer. I’m also planning on going back and reading more of her posts, particularly since I notice she quotes David Eddings and mentioned making friends with everyone in Old Bowerstone!

  1. Good luck! It’s really been good at stopping me sitting around waiting the muse to show up and making me actually write ๐Ÿ™‚
